Etihad for Business now lets corporates redeem credits for carbon-offsets
New digital features streamline corporate travel management and environmental tracking
DUBAI – UAE’s national carrier Etihad Airways has introduced a new carbon-offset feature for its Etihad for Business (EYB) platform, enabling corporate clients to redeem EYB credits directly to support climate action.
The move builds on the airline’s earlier launch of a fully digital corporate travel programme, offering an intuitive online portal to manage travel, track spend, and access benefits. With this enhancement, Etihad positions itself at the forefront of sustainable corporate travel in the UAE.
Carbon-offset integration
Through a collaboration with CarbonClick, EYB users can now convert accumulated credits into carbon-offsets, making it easier for businesses to meet voluntary environmental commitments.
Javier Alija, Vice President Global Sales & Distribution at Etihad Airways, explained that this integration simplifies the process for corporate clients to monitor emissions associated with business travel and take proactive steps in support of climate action.
Digital travel tools
The EYB platform allows corporates to manage their travel programmes seamlessly, offering upgrades, priority services, lounge access, excess baggage benefits, and now – carbon-offsets. Upcoming enhancements will include automated performance reports, real-time analytics, simplified contract management, and transparent tiering requirements, ensuring a comprehensive and self-service travel experience.
Corporate sustainability
Alija highlighted that the platform empowers corporate clients to align travel activities with sustainability goals while maximising the value of their business programmes.
By embedding carbon-offset redemption directly into EYB, Etihad provides a practical, accessible tool for companies aiming to reduce their environmental impact through everyday travel management.
